Description

Fiberhome AN6000-15 overview

The AN6000-15 is a large-sized optical line terminal deployed in a central office. Providing 15 service slots and featuring large capacity and high bandwidth, the device can cater to the access demand in a densely-populated area.

AN6000-15 is the next-generation OLT platform that has the ultra-broadband capability for PON smooth evolution. Their distributed architecture design can support high-density GPON, XG(S)-PON, XG(S)-PON Combo, TWDM-PON, WDM-PON, and P2P card, which will bring higher bandwidth and enhance capacity for access network. Cloudization and virtualization can also be implemented on them. All of these will improve user experience, and reduce long-term investment and maintenance costs of operators.

Product Features

  • High Capacity & Density: Supports many PON ports (e.g., 240 GPON/XGS-PON) and provides high switching capacity (6.8Tbps) for dense urban/rural access.
  • PON Technology Evolution: Integrates multiple PON types (GPON, XG(S)-PON, 50G-PON, TWDM-PON) in one chassis for smooth upgrades to Next-Gen PON.
  • Flexible Uplink: Offers high-speed uplink ports (10GE/GE or 100GE) for core network connectivity.
  • Cloud-Ready Architecture: Supports Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) for cloud-based operations.
  • Reliability & Redundancy: Features 1+1 redundant core/power cards, PON Type B/C protection, and uplink protection (LACP/MSTP/ERPS).
  • Advanced Network Features: Includes L3 routing (OSPF, BGP, IS-IS), MPLS, OLT slicing, VXLAN, and ISSU (In-Service Software Upgrade).

Application Scenarios

1. Mega-City Ultra-Broadband Deployment in Brazil

A leading Brazilian telecom deployed FiberHome AN6000-15 OLTs in central São Paulo to serve 16,000+ 4K subscribers. The 6.8 Tbps switching capacity and 240 PON ports (via 16-port agile-PON cards) supported GPON/XGS-PON coexistence, delivering symmetric gigabit speeds. Its 1:256 splitting ratio and 60km transmission covered dense high-rises and suburban extensions, while 1588v2 synchronization ensured smooth IPTV and video calls. Redundant 1+1 power/core cards minimized downtime, critical for 24/7 triple-play services. SDN compatibility enabled centralized network management, aligning with the operator’s F5G upgrade strategy.

2. Enterprise & Residential Convergence in Germany

A German ISP adopted AN6000-15 OLTs for Berlin’s tech campuses and mixed-use districts. The carrier-class platform aggregated traffic from 8×10GE uplinks, supporting cloud applications for enterprises and ultra-broadband for residences. Its distributed architecture allowed flexible integration of GPON/XGS-PON/50G PON cards, future-proofing for bandwidth growth. LACP/BFD protocols ensured uplink reliability, while OLT slicing isolated business and residential traffic. The 19-inch rack-mount design fit existing central offices, and low-power components reduced operational costs—making it ideal for large-scale multi-service access.

For power consumption of each card, refer to AN6000 Series Optical Line Terminal Equipment Hardware Description.
The overall power consumption is measured under the following conditions: Working voltage: -53.5 V DC. Room temperature: 25℃ (static power consumption and typical power consumption) or 55℃ (maximum power consumption) Static power consumption: All the broadband ports are deactivated. Typical power consumption: 50% of the broadband ports are concurrently activated. Maximum power consumption: 100% of the broadband ports are concurrently activated.
